DN Colleges Group are recruiting a part time Technician/Instructor to join our team to support learners in the Game Development Course, ensuring they receive guidance and practical skills for success. Within this role, you are responsible for the management of the recording studios and portable equipment.

This vacancy is 22.5 hours between Monday - Friday - some evening work may be required.

The pro rata salary is £15,312.04 - £16,077.04 per annum. 

The role is working across two sites, typically working 2 days at University Campus Doncaster, and one day at University Campus North Lincolnshire (Scunthorpe).  

Scope and Purpose of the Role: Provide technical and creative support to learners, maintain games and audio hardware, and assist curriculum staff to promote learner success.

Essential Criteria:

  • Level 6 qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience (audio related - games, music, events). 
  • Experience in sound studios. 
  • Workshop facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of studio hardware/software (Pro Tools)
  • Fault finding and system testing skills
  • Effective communication with staff and learners
  • Ability to lift equipment
  • Experience with game development software (game engines) is desirable.
  • Full driving licence is preferred. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Support curriculum staff and supervise learners, providing guidance where necessary. 
  • Maintain recording equipment and games hardware
  • Demonstrate practical techniques and use of equipment
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to quality assurance
  • Assist with purchasing services and supplies

Additional Duties:

  • Support a high-performing culture
  • Adhere to policies on Equality, Health and Safety, and Safeguarding
  • Perform additional tasks as needed
